NOTICE OF WATER RATE INCREASE

For fifteen (15) years we have been able to maintain quality water, quality service, upgrade the system and drill new wells as needed without raising the rates. During the past fifteen years the costs have increased for water purchased, electricity needed to pump the water from the wells, wages, materials, and just about everything needed to operate the water company.  Through good management, cost controls, consolidations and other operating procedures we were able to abstain from raising the rates.  Unfortunately costs continue to rise and it is necessary to have a small raise in water rates effective January 18, 2008.  The water rate increased by 25 cents per unit.  A unit is approximately 750 gallons.  25 cents per unit equates to 3 and 1/3 cents per 100 gallons.  The minimum bill for 14 units or less will go up by $4.50.  The minimum bill includes costs for maintaining your meter and connection to main lines and other operating costs.
