BELLFLOWER, CA (May 25, 2022) – Bellflower-Somerset Mutual Water Company (BSMWC) announced the winners of its annual “Water is Life” poster art contest, which aims to promote and encourage efficient water use at home and outdoors. The theme for this year’s Earth Day – Invest in Our Planet – is a timely reminder to use water wisely. In celebration of Earth Day, Bellflower-Somerset Mutual Water Company (BSMWC) encourages shareholders to increase their water use efficiency by taking advantage of conservation rebates and free educational resources available on BSMWC.com. BSMWC offers rebates through its partnership with Central Basin Municipal Water District for appliances such as high-efficiency toilets and washing machines. Upgrading to an Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) system will reduce costs, increase efficiency, and reduce pollution as the meters can be read remotely instead of requiring staff to drive by each home and business. The investment in smart AMI technology will save money for BSMWC and our shareholders. Over time, moving water can wear down parts inside meters. Due to the age of the existing meters in our system, they are scheduled for replacement.
